Aidan Grimes inspires PNG Initiative

After a very passionate and moving speech about the Kokoda Campaign at the 2nd 14th Battalion Reunion luncheon held in Brisbane, Aidan Grimes met with the PNG Consul General to canvass support from the PNG government to fund an athletics development programme for locals along the Kokoda corridor.  The two agreed that local communities from the Kokoda Track would benefit greatly from Australian athletics expertise and training programmes, similar to the initiative of the Irish priest, Father Colm O'Connell who developed running programmes in Kenya and subsequently developed word leaders in the discipline.
