Corporate Kokoda
A 6-Month Authentic Leadership Immersion
Delivered through Campfire Academy
Culminating on the Kokoda Track in Papua New Guinea
Program Philosophy
Corporate Kokoda is not an adventure program.
It is a staged adaptive capacity model designed to develop leaders who can regulate, decide, and act under pressure.
The program integrates:
- Counselling and trauma-informed practice
- Exercise physiology and load management
- Performance psychology
- Applied Kokoda campaign history
- Structured coaching and behavioural accountability
Growth is deliberate.
Stress is progressive.
Integration is non-negotiable.
The 6-Month Structure
Phase 1 – Foundations of Leadership Capacity (Weeks 1–12)
Objective: Build physiological, psychological and behavioural readiness.
Participants enter a structured Campfire Academy syllabus including:
1. Executive Self-Assessment & Pre-Coaching
- Adaptive capacity profiling
- Stress load mapping
- Leadership identity audit
- Emotional regulation baseline
- Physical capacity screening
Each participant receives:
- 1:1 leadership coaching session
- Individual development plan (IDP)
- Personal load progression framework
2. Physical Conditioning Program (12 Weeks)
Designed and supervised through exercise physiology principles:
- Aerobic base development
- Strength and joint resilience
- Pack-load progression
- Heat and terrain adaptation
- Recovery sequencing education
Participants learn:
- The science of stress adaptation
- Hormesis vs overload
- Recovery as performance strategy
This is not “get fit for Kokoda.”
It is build capacity for leadership under load.
3. Nutrition & Recovery Intelligence
Delivered as practical workshops:
- Stress physiology & cortisol literacy
- Sleep optimisation protocols
- Fuel timing for performance
- Alcohol, inflammation & decision quality
- HRV and nervous system literacy
Leaders learn how physiology drives cognition and behaviour.
4. Psychological & Emotional Preparation
Structured modules include:
- Nervous system regulation under pressure
- PEC integration (Physical–Emotional–Cognitive alignment)
- Decision-making under fatigue
- Conflict repair frameworks
- Values clarification and identity articulation
Participants begin crafting a Leadership Position Statement before departure.
Phase 2 – The Kokoda Immersion (8 Days)
Delivered on the Kokoda Track.
This is the applied laboratory.
Each day integrates:
- Guided historical leadership analysis
- Applied stress exposure
- Evening structured reflection circles
- Narrative reconstruction conversations
- Real-time behavioural feedback
Historical case studies from the Kokoda campaign are used to examine:
- Command under uncertainty
- Moral courage
- Collective accountability
- Endurance without recognition
- Decision-making with incomplete information
Physical fatigue becomes the catalyst for identity-level insight.
The Track is not the goal.
Integration is.
Phase 3 – Post-Kokoda Integration (Weeks 14–24)
Most programs end at the finish line.
Corporate Kokoda begins its deepest work there.
1. Immediate Reintegration Coaching
- 1:1 debrief session
- Identity integration conversation
- Translating insights into workplace behaviour
2. 90-Day Behavioural Implementation Plan
Participants commit to:
- Specific leadership behaviour changes
- Conflict management upgrades
- Recovery protocols
- Decision-making frameworks
Measured and coached.
3. Future Growth Weekends (2 x Immersion Weekends)
Held at 60 and 120 days post-expedition.
Focus areas:
- Leadership recalibration
- Stress inoculation simulations
- Advanced communication drills
- Team accountability forums
This prevents the common post-adventure decline.
4. Ongoing Executive Coaching Access
Each participant receives:
- Monthly 1:1 sessions
- Optional counselling support
- Organisational feedback loop (if corporate-sponsored)
Outcomes
By completion, participants demonstrate:
- Improved stress regulation under pressure
- Increased leadership clarity
- Higher behavioural accountability
- Stronger physical resilience
- Measurable shifts in emotional regulation
- Integrated identity-based leadership philosophy

Corporate Kokoda is designed for:
- Senior executives

- High-performance teams
- Defence and emergency services leaders
- Organisations seeking culture reset
It is not suitable for:
