Newsletter The Police and Emergency Services (TPAES) Legacy Reunion Trek – November 2026
Hello
The Police and Emergency Services (TPAES)
Legacy Reunion Trek – November 2026
19 Years. 950+ Trekkers. One Brotherhood.
After 19 years walking the Kokoda Track alongside Police and Emergency Services personnel, by overwhelming demand, we are proud to announce the TPAES Legacy Reunion Trek – 2 – 12th November 2026.
This is not just another trek. ……..This is a homecoming.
Warm regards, Aidan Grimes
A Journey That Began in 2006
Since its creation in 2004 as a joint initiative between Our Spirit and the NSW Police Force in support of NSW Police Legacy, the program has grown into something extraordinary.
Over the past 19 years, more than 950 Police and Emergency Services personnel have crossed the Kokoda Track under the ANZAC banner.
What began as one initiative expanded to include:
NSW Ambulance
Fire and Rescue NSW
Northern Territory Police Force
Australian Federal Police
NT Police Legacy
SA Legacy
TAS Legacy
AFP Legacy
PNG Police and Legacy
VIC Police and Legacy
We acknowledge and thank every contributor, participant and supporter who ensured the integrity, safety and longevity of this remarkable program.
Why a Reunion Trek?
Because mateship doesn’t retire.
Because the network matters.
Because shared hardship binds people for life.
Since that first trek in 2006, some of our brothers and sisters have passed. This Reunion Trek honours them.
It is an opportunity to:
Reconnect with old friends
Strengthen the professional and personal network
Honour those no longer with us
Walk again in remembrance of the ANZAC Diggers
It Doesn’t Matter If You’re Not as Fit as You Were
You may not have the same fitness you once had — and that’s okay.
We will:
✔ Provide a structured pre-trek training program ✔ Ensure you have ample preparation time ✔ Progressively build your strength and endurance ✔ Support you every step of the way
The goal is not speed. The goal is shared experience.
The 11-Day Legacy Journey
November 2026, Papua New Guinea
Experience the highs and lows of the treacherous Kokoda Track with courage, endurance and mateship — without the ultimate sacrifice made by the Diggers before us during the 1942 Kokoda Campaign.

This moment is always unforgettable.
